Changing

Many things are changing nowadays. Things come and things go, some people get rich and some goes low. Some find happiness, while some met sorrow. Life's never fair since the day we were born. I am pretty lucky to be born somewhere far away from war and hunger. People born in places like Congo and Afghanistan are not so fortunate though. Count yourself lucky to be living in Singapore. I wish I can help and end sorrow in the world, but that's not achievable without money and power. Pretty bold ambition eh?

Enough about saving the world, I could not even help friends who are having trouble. Perhaps all I can ever do is to give moral support and be a listening ear. Pretty lame eh? I just hope time itself will heal their wounds.

This week seems fast too, it's already Tuesday damn. And finally Thor will be out in 2 days. Can't wait for the sequel, hope it's good. Oh yea ate some vegetable noodles yesterday thanks to one of my friend's 好介绍, was damn nice with all the peanut and almond sauce. Also, I found out that Garden by the Bay is an awesome place to chat, nice ambinence with a peaceful environment, well thanks to my friend again. If anyone needs somewhere to talk your heart out, that might just be the damn place for it.

I don't usually listen to slow songs, but this will be an exception, awesome song.

Fighting Spirit

The greatest things in life doesn't come easy, that's why we have to fight for what we love.
Nothing is worth having if we don't fight for it.

It was a pretty fast week and tomorrow is Friday already. Seems like time is getting quicker and quicker. Exactly 90 days to Chinese New Year, my gosh. Chinese New Year  used to be my favorite time of the year because I get to stay late up at night, have nice food to eat and of course getting angpaos! However, things seemed dull as I get older. Not sure why, perhaps I am getting used to adult life now. I wish time can slow down because in another 10 years time I will be 31 years old already, damn.

Loving someone is when you always want to be together with her, and when you're not, you're thinking about being together because you need that person; and without them, your life feels incomplete. It's when you trust the other with your life; and when you would do anything for each other. When you love someone, you want nothing more than for them to be really happy- no matter what it takes because their needs come before your own. It's when they're the last thing you think about before you go to sleep- and when they're the first thing you think of when you wake up. Love is giving someone the power to destroy you, and trusting them not to. When they're with you, your heart races. It's when you can't get the smile off your face when you are thinking about her; and you feel like you've been touched by an angel. That's what I am feeling right now, and I will fight for it.

Confusion

Most misery started with apparent happiness.
It's been a fun, yet hectic week for me. Been to Genting Highlands with my friends and oh boy, how I wish I can travel back in time to go back there again.

Climate over there is superb compared to Singapore, accommodation is alright, entertainment is surprisingly plentiful even though the outdoor theme park had closed down. The only problems are that food is scarce for Veggie Lovers like me and OHT and it's quite inconvenient to travel around that area without you own transport. Typical taxi rides cost around 80MYR to 120 MYR (31 SGD to 47 SGD). Ouch, that's quite alot. Still, a trip worth the money and those moments will definitely be staying in my memory bank for quite some time.

Back to reality I guess, time to work hard for what you want, although the list is increasing for me. Next investment will be braces. My set of teeth are horrible, like seriously, it's time to change those shit. That will cost me around S$4k to S$5k, though it's not a problem since my Year End Bonus are coming. Oh yea, after one short damn course for my career, my pay will be increasing again. Just the right moment for the Year End Bonus too.

Next up, time to gain some mass. Gonna be eating alot more and hitting the gym at least 2 times per week to prepare myself for next year's IPPT. I will need to do something now if I still want to maintain my Sliver, lol. Besides, getting a little more mass in my body will help me look better for sure.

Finally, it's time to not feel upset about anything now. No time to get heart pains and stuff, all that will just pull me down. NO, I won't feel down anymore, just stay focus and put in more effort of what I do. Seems like I do get this type of feelings annually, like seriously lol, no more. It's tough loving someone, but is it worth it? What I do now will just be true feelings, no more motives whatsoever. It's just gonna make you think alot.

Percentage to S$1,000,000: 2% (lol)

Vacation

It's been quite a hectic year for me. I was still waiting to get enlisted into the army more than a year ago. Things didn't turn out well for me last year, was a sad one because of various incidents. Oh well, time flies and without knowing I'm already an 1 year soldier.

It's time to let loose and go for a short getaway, and it's gonna happen in 2 week's time. Will be travelling to god knows where (plan not finalized) with my friends and just get away from the busy life in Singapore.

Perhaps it's time to pick up a camera before the trip since I don't have any, or I will just get this detachable lens cum camera for my phone. Basically you just hook this device up with your phone via WIFI and NFC and viola, your phone has just became an DSLR. Pretty cool eh? Heard it cost USD $499 though.

Career

Have you ever wondered what are we studying for? It is to prepare us with essential knowledge and skills to take up various jobs when the time comes. Most of us will have jobs nearly our whole life unless you get to strike toto or somehow get to marry a rich guy or girl (嫁入豪门).

Starting pay varies, with qualifications and job scope being the determine factor of your salary. In general engineering jobs, one can expect to be paid as such.

Diploma Holders: $1,800+
Degree Holders: $2,700+
Degree Holders with at least 2nd class Honours: $2,800+

With the ever increasing standard of living in Singapore and factoring in the inflation rate, will such amount of salary suffice for us? Probably not. Education ain't cheap either, a typical Degree Holder will be spending over $20,000 for a single piece of paper in the course of 3 to 4 years. You'll be in tied to a debt by the time you graduate. Is it worth it? I don't think so. However, there isn't seem to be a choice nowadays as Degree are becoming the next O-Levels. It's a sin to not have it.

Careers aside, I should start creating my android application soon. It seems like for the past few months I am not really motivated to start anything, but I will need to do it for having another source of income to even have a chance to reach my target of having a cash pile of 1 million dollars in the bank by 40 years old.

Oh, while I was driving these few days, a song got me mesmerized and it got stuck in my head without me knowing. Colleagues are somehow getting irritated by my humming. The song is La La La by Naughty Boy. Seems like a joke song right? Nope it's quite nice actually, video right below.

Will be having my range tomorrow, been almost a year since I've shot a bullet. I will never forget the times spent with my platoon mates during my BMT. The way we laugh, suffer, persevere, those were all good times. If I were to be given a choice, I would still choose to redo my BMT with my platoon mates. But life is always a straight road, there's no way to back track. Only memories are left behind, the only option is to savour them.

I will try my best to get marksman tomorrow to add more badges to my uniform. They do look too plain now and my next target will be getting a airborne badge, if time permits. Probably about time to clean my trust helmet and ilbv, they do smell funny after being neglected for almost a year.

I am back.

3 years, yup I am finally back. 3 darn long years since I've updated anything on this page. I will be updating it once again, hopefully it will be for a long time. So, what was I doing for the past few years? Many things had happened, good or bad. This will take ages to complete if I were to list down everything.

Basically now,
I got a diploma.
I am serving the army currently.
I have a job.

Pretty much that sums it all. Went to a friend's Birthday Party yesterday and somehow the breeze that blew at ECP made me ponder much about what will be my future be. People are getting older by the day and although I am still 21 years old this year, time will eventually catch up with me.

Time passes by too quickly, damn. Time to plan my future and what goals would I want to have. Goals are the force that pushes one to his limits if he's passionate enough and I believe everyone needs to have goals to succeed in life.

I do have a few in mind now.
To get a degree.
To earn my first million dollars by 40 years old.
To get married by 30.
To live happily ever after.

Pretty bold I suppose? I guess so. Still, I would love to earn that amount of money within 40 years old. By then, let them multiply by themselves. Greedy I suppose, but that's what it keeps us to push ourselves forward. Perhaps so, till next time.
